Should You Chose Prescription Pills or Natural Remedies for Ulcer Treatment?Even with all of the modern medical assistance out there in our world today, many people still prefer to use the natural or home remedies to cure what ails them. However, if you are suffering from the pain and discomfort caused by an ulcer, you may want to think twice about what you decide to use to cure it. While herbal and other natural remedies may work just fine for some illnesses and diseases, if you are experiencing the terrible pain that is associated with an ulcer, you may want to seek a more modern and scientifically based ulcer treatment. Years ago, the common ulcer treatment for someone with a duodenal or stomach ulcer was to go home and get plenty of bed rest, eat bland food and only drink water and take a healthy dose of antacid several times a day. As modern science improved though, we learned that ulcers had nothing to do with the foods that we ate or how much alcohol we consumed – instead we found that the common duodenal ulcer was caused by bacteria. Knowing this, we now know that antibiotics are the most efficient and successful ulcer treatment for those suffering from stomach ulcers. However, stomach ulcers are a different type of monster in comparison to other types of ulcers such as diabetic ulcers and mouth ulcers like canker sores. Neither of these other ulcer types are able to be controlled by any amount of antibiotics and usually just take nothing more than time to treat. That being said, if you want to try and hasten the ulcer treatment process of non-duodenal ulcers, then there are a few natural home remedies that you can use. For example, if you have a mouth ulcer, it is commonly recommended that you rinse your mouth out with a solution of baking soda and water several times a day in hopes that the properties of the baking soda will help alleviate the pain of the ulcer and speed up the healing process.
